The role of quality management and patient safety at Al Kindi Hospital is to support the healthcare team by improving healthcare delivery in all respects. Our quality team mainly monitors and evaluates trends within the hospital and focuses on improving the experiences of our patients in the hospital and increasing patient satisfaction in general.
Al Kindi Hospital has long paid great attention to attracting competencies with expertise in local medical quality and reliability, and has harnessed human and financial resources to create an environment that takes care of quality and medical care policies.

 Departments in quality management and patient safety

  • Quality development

Works on performance improvement projects consisting of interested committees specialized in verifying the quality standards followed.

  • Patient Safety Department

 Establishing and following up incident reports and finding solutions to each problem (patients, staff, and facility safety), analyzing all these incidents that may occur in the hospital and presenting them to the Committee.

  • Department of Procedure and Policy Development

 Working to develop business policies in accordance with local and global regulations and reviewing current policies in cooperation with department heads and department managers.



 Preparation for accreditation by HCAC Health Institution Accreditation Board

Accreditation is an integrated process that includes a set of steps by a stand-alone entity independent of the hospital, usually a non-governmental entity, to assess the performance of the hospital and ensure that a set of standards are applied that are designed to improve the quality and safety of health care.

At Al Kindi Hospital, we have been preparing for accreditation by the HCAC Accreditation Board because it:

  •  Improves the quality of services, increases the efficiency of health institutions. 
  • Helps them apply high quality standards that enable hospital quality experts to assess the quality of their services compared to these standards and help them monitor the improved performance of services. 
  • Gain patient confidence in the quality of services in the hospital and support competitiveness among Jordanian hospitals.

Breast imaging unit accreditation

It is an accreditation given to mammogram units that apply the standards of the Board of Accreditation of Health Institutions for regular breast screening units, with 94 criteria to be applied by the hospital, which will receive this accreditation under 4 sections:

(Professional performance, clinical performance, quality management, file and information management)

Al Kindi Hospital is currently seeking this accreditation to provide the best quality health services to patients in the mammogram unit.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Equipping and preparing the hospital for accreditation.
  • Developing and managing quality and patient safety improvement programs in hospital departments.
  • Monitoring performance measurement indicators.
  • Training and dissemination of standards and policies.
  • Collecting information on patient satisfaction, escorts and medical staff by establishing a mechanism to measure patient satisfaction.
  • Spreading the culture of quality in health care and applying the means to develop it from banner policies, instructions, training, and brochures.
  • Regular tours of hospital units to assess the environmental situation, safety issues, problem identification and improvement opportunities in coordination with the Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Follow-up and coordination with those concerned to achieve reliability standards.
  • Organizing and coordinating workshops on quality improvement procedures in the hospital.
  • Preparing and following up training courses and qualifying hospital staff.
  • Developing and implementing the nursing competency assessment system.
  • Follow-up of nursing care for patients and follow-up of any complaint related to nursing.
  • Follow-up and application of the instructions of the Ministry of Health and official government agencies.
  • Follow-up and sorting of medical waste and infection control precautions.
