When is IVF used?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

IVF techniques have been used since the 1970s and are considered a major revolution in the world of infertility treatment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Patient can IVF is used in the following cases:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Blockage of the fallopian tube.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Male infertility, including low sperm count or severe impaired mobility.<\/span><\/li>\n

      IVF Program<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Key steps in the unit for IVF procedure<\/b><\/p>\n

      Ovarian stimulation<\/b><\/h4>\n

      It is one of the most important steps prior to any procedure in the laboratory, and the aim of this step is to obtain a good number and good quality of eggs to return 2-3 embryos to the uterus with the possibility of freezing the remaining embryos for later use if the couple wishes to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n

      This step is to give the wife hormonal injections to induce ovulation for 2-3 weeks. When the eggs are ready and mature, the eggs are withdrawn in the next stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Egg <\/b>retrieval<\/b><\/h4>\n

      Egg retrieval is performed without surgical procedure by an ultrasound device under general anesthesia and takes 10-20 minutes. The pulled eggs are then sent to the laboratory. For the side effects of egg retrieval, they usually do not exceed minor abdominal pain and minor bleeding.<\/span>

      Fertilization<\/b><\/h4>\n

      During the egg withdrawal process, a sample of semen is requested from the husband at the same time. After semen treatment, good quality is extracted and fertilization technique is performed.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Returning embryos to the mother’s womb<\/b><\/h4>\n

      This step takes place 2 to 5 days after the egg is withdrawn, fertilization is performed and the embryos form.<\/span><\/p>\n

      This step is painless and does not require anesthesia, as it is done by inserting a special tube (catheter) into the uterus to inject it into the uterine cavity. After the procedure, the wife can return to normal life.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Genetic study technique helps to select healthy embryos before returning them to the uterus to avoid the possibility of miscarriage and genetic defects as much as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

                • Definition of infertility: Infertility is that pregnancy does not occur for a year or more after a normal marital relationship without the use of any contraceptive methods. There are many reasons not to conceive, and both spouses are responsible for approximately 40% of them and in about 20% of infertility cases the factors are common to the spouses or there is no particular cause.<\/span><\/li>\n
                • The infertility and IVF treatment programs aim to increase the chances of successful pregnancy. The normal odds of pregnancy are up to 20% and for infertile couples these are much lower, so the treatment aims to increase the normal percentage or at least achieve it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Before starting any treatment phase in the infertility and IVF treatment unit, the couple is comprehensively evaluated, preferably together during the first doctor’s consultation where:<\/span><\/p>\n

                  • The clinical evaluation of the wife and sometimes the husband.<\/span><\/li>\n
